Really, how have we arrived at this kind of graphical fidelity? It feels like it was yesterday that I was marveling at the ‘insane’ draw distance in the first Spyro the Dragon. I mean, you can literally see the individual segments within each ladybug’s eyes. The detail in this digital National Geographic homage is simply amazing. HDR really shines when it comes to sunlight or moonglow, while 4K UHD comes into its own with delicate water droplets and dozens of individual dandelion seeds that get beautifully scattered into the wind. Assuming Insects’ integrated toggle functionality is presenting as totally accurate, the stark differences between 4K/HDR and standard HD viewing are stark and stunning. I have my Xbox One X hooked up to a 55 inch Samsung QLED, and I’ll say that this demo looks absolutely incredible on the display. This demo needs to be seen to be believed.
